Sobre esta passagem
Isaiah 41:10 belongs to the second part of the Book of Isaiah, in which God speaks words of comfort to Israel. The surrounding verses call Israel my servant, whom God has chosen, and the section is widely read as addressed to a people in exile.
In the verse, God tells the listener not to fear or be dismayed, because he is with them, and promises to strengthen, help and uphold them. Tradition ascribes the whole book to the prophet Isaiah, while many scholars date chapters 40 to 55 to the time of the Babylonian exile.
The verse is a favourite of Jewish and Christian readers for comfort in fear. Its first sense is a word to a community, and readers who apply it individually do so by extension of the passage's message about God's presence.
