Frequently asked questions
- Do I need Pro to make worlds?
- Yes. Every world is made by an outside 3D world service, so there are no free tries: AI 3D World Generator comes with Pro, and each world uses credits from your plan.
- What is a gaussian splat world?
- Instead of triangles and textures, the world is millions of tiny soft, coloured blobs (splats) that together look like a photo from every angle. It's the format used for 3D scans and radiance fields, and it looks far more real than a quick mesh.
- What's the difference between Draft, Standard and Premium?
- Draft is quick and uses few credits, good for testing an idea. Standard makes a detailed world you can explore in every direction. Premium spends more effort on detail and consistency and uses the most credits. You see the credits next to the Create world button before you start, and Premium is settled to what the world actually cost, never more than was held.
- SPZ or PLY: which file should I choose?
- SPZ is about ten times smaller and opens in most splat viewers and three.js. PLY is the classic gaussian splat format that editors such as SuperSplat, Blender add-ons, Unity and Unreal plug-ins read. Full detail is only offered as SPZ, because a full-detail PLY would be several hundred megabytes.
- What does Detail change?
- How many splats the file has: Light is about 100,000, Standard about 500,000 and Full every splat the service made. Light and Standard load fast and run smoothly on phones; Full looks sharpest on a computer. Detail doesn't change the credits.
- How do I move around the world?
- In Walk, drag to look around and use W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to move; on a phone, drag with one finger to look, two fingers to slide and press and hold to move forward. In Orbit, drag to turn around the world, scroll or pinch to zoom and right-drag or two fingers to pan. Reset view puts you back where the world starts.
- Can I start from my own photo?
- Yes. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 8 MB and the world is built outward from it; a 360-degree panorama works too. Add a description if you want to steer what's out of view.
- How do I get a better world?
- Describe one place: the setting, the style, the light and what's around you, for example "a mossy stone courtyard with a fountain, late afternoon sun, overgrown archways on every side". Places work better than single objects or people.
- What can't I make?
- Sexual content, real people without their consent, hateful or violent content, and anything illegal. Requests like these are refused, with a message asking you to change the description or photo.
- What happens to my description, photo and world?
- Your description and photo are sent to our 3D world provider only to make the world; we delete our copy once it's made. The provider keeps the world privately on its servers (it isn't listed or shared) and may use requests to improve its service, as its terms describe (see our privacy policy). The file is available to download for 1 hour, then it's deleted. On Pro, your files and results are kept in My files until you delete them.
