To convert a PDF to JPG, open the free PDF to JPG converter, choose your PDF, pick an image quality (Screen, High or Print), choose all pages or only the ones you need, and click Convert to JPG. Each page becomes its own JPG image. Download them one at a time or all together in a ZIP. It's free, needs no sign-up, and the PDF is converted on your device.
People convert PDF pages to images to post a page on social media or WhatsApp status, to upload a document to a form that only accepts JPG, to put a page into a slide or a Word document, or to send a quick preview that opens on any phone.
Step by step
- Open the free PDF to JPG converter.
- Click Choose a PDF or drag it onto the box (up to 100 MB). The file name and page count appear.
- Under Image quality, choose Screen (96 dpi), High (150 dpi) or Print (300 dpi).
- Under Pages, choose All pages, or Only these pages and type them in Pages to convert, like
1-3, 5. (A one-page PDF skips this.) - Click Convert to JPG. A progress line shows which page it's working on, and each image appears below as soon as it's ready.
- Download:
- Several pages: click Download N JPG images (ZIP), or the small Download button under any single image.
- One page: click Download JPG.
Each image is named after the PDF and its page number, like statement-page-3.jpg, so they stay in order when unzipped.
Which quality to choose
The quality setting decides how many pixels each page gets. Under each image the converter shows its exact size in pixels and its file size, so you can check.
| Quality | A4 page becomes about | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Screen (96 dpi) | 793 × 1122 px | WhatsApp, email previews, social posts, web pages |
| High (150 dpi) | 1240 × 1753 px | Documents with small text, form uploads, slides |
| Print (300 dpi) | 2480 × 3507 px | Printing, or zooming in on fine detail |
A US Letter page is slightly different: about 816 × 1056 pixels at Screen, 1275 × 1650 at High and 2550 × 3300 at Print.
High is the default and the right choice most of the time. Screen keeps files small but small print can get fuzzy. Print gives the sharpest pages, but the files are about four times the pixels of High and take longer to make, so save it for when you really need it.
Converting just one page
To turn a single page into a JPG, for example the first page of a certificate, choose Only these pages and type its number. You'll get one image and a Download JPG button, no ZIP.
Page numbers count from the very first page of the file, which may differ from the number printed on the page.
When to pick PNG instead
JPG is best for pages with photos and keeps files small. For pages that are mostly text, line drawings, charts or slides, PNG keeps the edges crisper, at the cost of bigger files. Use the free PDF to PNG converter for those. Our PDF to PNG vs PDF to JPG comparison explains the difference with examples.
Making the JPG smaller for a form
Some forms want a JPG under a size limit, such as 100 KB or 200 KB. Convert at Screen or High, then shrink the image with the free image compressor by lowering the quality and checking the size it shows. For a deeper walk-through, see our guide on compressing an image to 50 KB.
Things that can trip you up
- Password-protected PDFs can't be converted yet. Remove the password and save a copy first, either in your PDF reader or with Unlock PDF if you know the password (free for PDFs up to 25 MB).
- Very long PDFs at Print quality take a while and use a lot of memory, especially on phones. If a phone struggles, convert in smaller page ranges, or use High.
- Very large pages, such as posters or engineering drawings, may be saved slightly smaller than the chosen quality so your device can handle them. The converter tells you when this happens.
- The background is always white, the same as a PDF viewer shows it. JPG doesn't support transparency.

Private and free
The pages are drawn into images in your browser. The PDF isn't uploaded anywhere, which makes conversion quick and keeps statements, contracts and certificates on your device.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert a PDF to JPG on my phone?
- Open the free PDF to JPG converter in your phone's browser, choose the PDF from Files or Downloads, pick a quality and convert. Images save to Downloads, and several pages come as a ZIP.
- How do I save only one page of a PDF as a JPG?
- Choose "Only these pages", type the page number and convert. You'll get a single JPG.
- What does dpi mean here?
- Dots per inch: how many pixels each inch of the page gets. 96 dpi suits screens, 150 dpi keeps small text readable, and 300 dpi is for printing.
- Why is the ZIP so big?

- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Your PDF is converted on your device and never leaves it.
