How our health apps handle information about your health, and the rights you have over it, including under Washington’s My Health My Data Act.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the consumer health data handled by our Water Tracker, Calorie Counter, Workout Planner and Workout Tracker (“the health apps”), on EveryApp and installed on your devices. Cause Connect Pte. Ltd., Singapore (“we”, “us”), is responsible for it.
“Consumer health data” means information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health, such as what you eat and drink, your weight and your exercise. Our Privacy policy covers everything else, such as your account. Where the two differ about health data, this policy applies.
2. The health data we collect
We collect health data only when you are signed in and have agreed to sync it in that app. Signed out, or until you agree, your entries stay on your device and aren’t sent to us. When you agree, we collect:
- Water Tracker: your drink entries (amount, type and time), your daily goal and the goal settings you choose, including pregnancy or breastfeeding if you set them.
- Calorie Counter: the foods and drinks you log with their nutrients and times, your own foods, recipes and saved meals, your body weight entries, and the profile you enter to calculate targets (sex used in the formula, birth year, height, activity level and weight goal).
- Workout Planner: your training plans (exercises, sets, reps, weights, rest and notes), the training days you mark done, skipped or moved, the one-rep maxes you enter, and the exercises you add yourself.
- Workout Tracker: the workouts you log (exercises, sets, weights, reps, effort, times and notes), your routines and your own exercises, and your body weight if you log it.
- In every health app: your settings in that app (such as units and the time your day starts), your reminder times, and a record that you agreed, with the consent version and date.
Notes are free text, so they hold whatever you choose to write, which may include health information. Figures the apps work out from your entries, such as streaks, averages and totals, are calculated on your device. We don’t infer anything else about your health from your data.
3. Where it comes from
All of it comes from you: what you enter in the health apps, on any of your devices. We don’t collect health data about you from anyone else, buy it, or combine it with data from other companies. The food and exercise information built into the apps (such as nutrient values from the U.S. Department of Agriculture) is general reference data, not information about you.
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We collect and use your health data only to provide the service you asked for:
- to store your entries in your account, keep them the same on each device you sign in on, and back them up;
- to send the reminders you turn on, at the times you choose (reminders contain fixed words, never your entries);
- to give you a copy of your data when you ask, and to delete it when you ask; and
- to keep the service secure and working, for example to stop abuse and fix errors, without looking at your entries.
Our servers store and return your entries; they don’t analyse them. We don’t use your health data for advertising, analytics, profiling or training AI models. If we offer a feature that needs our servers to read your entries, such as a report, we’ll explain it before you turn it on and use the data only for that feature.
5. Who receives it
We never sell your health data, and we don’t share it with any third party for their own use. We have no affiliates that receive it. The only companies that handle it do so as our processors, on our instructions, to run the service:
- cloud hosting and storage: Amazon Web Services, in the United States, which runs our servers and stores encrypted copies of the data;
- our database: Neon, in the United States, which hosts our database on Amazon Web Services; and
- your browser’s or phone’s push service, only if you turn reminders on. It delivers a notification with fixed words chosen by the app. It receives no health data.
We may also disclose health data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order, and we will tell you where we’re allowed to. The pages of the health apps on EveryApp load no analytics, session recording, ads or code from other companies, so none of them receives what you enter.
6. Your consent
Each health app asks for your consent the first time it would sync, on its own screen that says what it collects, why and who receives it. It is never part of accepting our terms. You agree by ticking a box and choosing to sync; if you don’t, the app works on your device only. Each app asks separately, and asks again if what it collects changes.
You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Stop syncing. Syncing stops on that device straight away and on your other devices the next time they connect. Your data stays in your account and on your devices until you delete it, and new entries stay on your device. To remove the copy in your account too, also choose Delete my data.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- confirm whether we hold your health data and access it, including the list of companies that receive it (the list above is complete);
- get a copy: Settings → Privacy → Download my data in each health app, or Your data for everything;
- withdraw your consent: Stop syncing, as described above; and
- delete it: Delete my data in each health app, or delete your whole account under Your data.
You can do most of this yourself in the apps. You can also email privacy@everyapp.pro from the address on your account, or have someone you authorise do it for you. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act, and we use what you give us for that only to confirm it.
We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend that once by up to 45 more days, and we’ll tell you why within the first 45. Requests are free, at least twice a year. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
Appeals
If we decline your request, we’ll tell you why. You can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@everyapp.pro with “Appeal” in the subject. We’ll answer your appeal in writing within 45 days, with our reasons. If we deny it, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General, or to the authority where you live.
8. Deletion
- Delete my data in a health app deletes that app’s records, reminders and files from your account straight away, and your other devices delete their copy the next time they connect. Data on the device you’re using is kept unless you delete it there too, for example by removing the app or clearing its data.
- Deleting your account deletes your health data from every app, with the rest of your account.
- Copies in our backups and archives are deleted too, within 6 months of your request. Until then, they are kept secure and are not used.
- We delete your health data when you ask, or when you delete your account. We don’t delete it on our own while you have an account, because keeping your history is what the apps are for.
9. How we protect it
Only our staff who need to run the service can reach our database, and their actions in our admin tools are logged. Data is encrypted when it travels and where it is stored. Our server logs never contain your entries.
If your health data is ever acquired or disclosed without your authorisation, including by mistake, we will tell you without unreasonable delay and within 60 days of finding out, and we will notify the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and others as the law requires.
10. Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 or older. The Calorie Counter asks for a birth year and doesn’t set calorie targets for anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We will change the date at the top when we update this policy. If we want to collect new kinds of health data or use it in a new way, we will ask for your consent again first.
