Frequently asked questions
- How do I compare two texts for differences?
- Paste one version in each box and click Compare. Removed text is shown in pink and crossed out, added text in green, with a count of each.
- Is this a diff checker?
- Yes. It works like a diff checker: it finds the smallest set of changes that turns the original into the new version.
- Should I compare by lines, words or characters?
- Lines suit code, lists and long documents. Words suit edited paragraphs. Characters find tiny changes like a missing comma or a typo.
- Can it ignore capital letters and extra spaces?
- Yes. Turn on "Ignore capitals" or "Ignore extra spaces" to see only the changes that matter.
- Are my texts uploaded?
- No. The comparison runs on your device, so it's safe for contracts, code and other private text.
