SBI PO and Clerk Photo, Signature, Thumb Size 2026 (Free)

As per SBI's 2026 advertisements for Probationary Officers (CRPD/PO/2026-27/09) and Junior Associates (CRPD/CR/2026-27/17), you upload four JPG files: a photo of 200 × 230 px and 20-50 KB, a signature of 140 × 60 px and 10-20 KB, a left thumb impression of 240 × 240 px and 20-50 KB, and a handwritten declaration of 800 × 400 px and 50-100 KB. You also capture a live photo. The free image compressor gets every file into range without uploading it anywhere.

The pixel sizes are marked "preferred" in the advertisement; the KB ranges are the firm limits. SBI issues a fresh advertisement for each recruitment, so check the current one on SBI's careers page before you apply.

All four files are JPG/JPEG. If you don't have a left thumb, the advertisement allows the right thumb.

The declaration text

The PO advertisement asks you to write this, in your own handwriting, in English:

I ________ (Name of the candidate), ________ (Date of Birth) hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left-hand thumb impression is of mine.

The Junior Associates advertisement words the opening slightly differently, so copy the exact text from the advertisement you're applying under. Write it in normal running handwriting. Capital letters throughout will be rejected.

Photo: 200 × 230, 20-50 KB

1. Take a recent colour photo against a light, preferably white, wall. No cap, hat or dark glasses; if you wear glasses, make sure there's no reflection. Religious headwear is allowed if it doesn't cover the face.
2. Crop in the free image cropper (no iPhone HEIC): choose Free, type Width 1600 and Height 1840 under the picture (the same shape as 200 × 230; use smaller numbers if your photo is narrower), then drag the box to frame your head and shoulders. Save as JPG.
3. Resize in the free image resizer: Pixels, Lock proportions on, width 200. The height comes out at 230.
4. Check the size shown next to Download image. The resizer saves JPGs at high quality, so this is about as large as a 200 × 230 file gets. If it's over 50 KB, run it through the free image compressor at JPG, 80%.

A 200 × 230 photo is small, so it can come out under 20 KB. If it does, the pixel size is the lever: the dimensions are "preferred", so resize to slightly larger ones in the same shape, such as 240 × 276, and check again.

Signature: 140 × 60, 10-20 KB

Sign in black ink on white paper, crop tightly in the cropper's Free shape with a 7 : 3 box (Width 2100, Height 900 suits a 12 MP phone photo; use smaller numbers in that shape for smaller images), resize to 140 × 60, and check the size the resizer shows. At this tiny size the risk is being under 10 KB, not over 20; if it is, resize slightly larger in the same shape, such as 175 × 75. The signature must match what you sign at the exam, or you can be disqualified.

Left thumb impression: 240 × 240, 20-50 KB

1. Press your left thumb on a black or blue ink pad and roll it gently onto plain white paper. One clear impression, with ridges visible and no smudging.
2. Photograph it straight on, in good light.
3. In the cropper, choose Square 1:1 and frame the thumb with a little white margin. Save as JPG.
4. Resize to 240 × 240 and check that it reads 20-50 KB. Over 50 KB, compress at 80%; under 20 KB, resize slightly larger, such as 280 × 280.

Handwritten declaration: 800 × 400, 50-100 KB

1. Write the declaration on plain white paper in black ink, in a block about twice as wide as it is tall. Leave margins.
2. Photograph it flat, with no shadow from your phone.
3. In the cropper, choose Free and type a 2 : 1 box, such as Width 3200, Height 1600 for a 12 MP phone photo. Frame the text. Save as JPG.
4. Resize to 800 × 400 and compress at 80%. Text on white compresses well, so if it's under 50 KB, skip the compressor and use the resized file, or resize slightly larger in the same 2 : 1 shape.

About the 200 DPI note

SBI asks for scans at 200 DPI in true colour. If you're photographing with a phone instead of scanning, what the portal checks is the pixel size and the file size. 3 × 3 cm at 200 DPI is about 236 px, and 10 × 5 cm is about 787 × 394 px, which is why the advertisement gives 240 × 240 and 800 × 400.
