Frequently asked questions
Do horoscopes work?
Astrology is a tradition, not a science. In controlled tests, astrologers have not matched charts to people better than chance, and we know of no controlled test that supports predicting events. We calculate the positions accurately and show what the tradition says. Please don't base health, money, legal or relationship decisions on it.
Where does the daily text come from?
From the real sky. The app works out where the Moon is, counts from the sign picked, and shows the line for that place and that part of the Moon's cycle. EveryApp wrote all of the lines. Everyone with that sign sees the same line on the same day, so it isn't a reading of you, and nothing in it is a prediction.
Do I need my birth date or time?
No. Picking a sign is enough. Birth details are only for transits, which compare today's planets with a chart. Without a birth time the Moon is left out of those, because it moves too fast.
What does the calendar show?
New moons, full moons and quarters, solar and lunar eclipses, each planet moving into a new sign, and each planet's retrograde and direct turns, at the time they happen on your device's clock. The week view adds the Moon's changes of sign.
How accurate are the positions?
Positions were within 20 arcseconds of NASA JPL's Horizons system at all 100 points we checked: ten bodies at ten dates from 1900 to 2050. That's the accuracy of the astronomy only. It says nothing about astrology.
Does it do Vedic or Chinese horoscopes?
No. It's Western tropical astrology only.
Is my birth data private?
Calculated in your browser. Nothing is sent to us unless you save it. Your sign and birth details stay on this device, and they reach your account only if you sign in and agree to sync. They're never used for ads, they stay out of web addresses, and you can download or delete them at any time, on every plan.
Does it cost anything?
No. All of it is free, and nothing here is for sale: no paid readings and no remedies.
Can I get a daily reminder?
Yes, in the installed app when you're signed in. It's one notification with fixed words at a time you choose. It never shows the day's text or your sign.
Can I install it?
Yes, from your browser. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and tap Install. It works offline once installed. Place names are from GeoNames.
Is Horoscope free?
Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up, and installing it on your phone is free too.
