How to use the Online Stopwatch
- Press Start, or the Space bar.
- Press Lap (or L) to record a lap while it runs.
- Press Stop, then Reset (or R) to start again. Copy the laps if you need them.
Frequently asked questions
- How accurate is the stopwatch?
- It reads your device's high-precision clock and shows hundredths of a second. Screen updates don't affect the time it measures.
- Can I use it with the keyboard?
- Yes. Space starts and stops, L records a lap and R resets once it's stopped.
- What's the difference between lap time and total?
- Lap time is how long that lap took. Total is the time since you pressed Start.
- Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
- Yes. It measures from the clock, so the time stays right when you come back. Closing or reloading the tab resets it.
