How to play Sudoku
- Pick a difficulty. A new puzzle appears straight away.
- Select a square and choose a number. Each row, column and 3×3 box must hold 1 to 9 once.
- Turn on Notes to pencil in candidates. Placing a number clears it from the notes around it.
- Use Undo, Hint and Show mistakes as you like. Fill the grid to finish.

- Does every puzzle have one solution?
- Yes. Each puzzle is checked as it's made, so there is exactly one way to fill it.
- How are the levels different?
- Harder levels start with fewer numbers: about 40 on easy, 32 on medium, 27 on hard and 23 on expert.
- Can I play with the keyboard?
- Yes. Arrow keys move, 1 to 9 fill a square, Backspace clears it, N switches notes on and off and U undoes.
- Do hints affect my best time?
- A puzzle solved with a hint still counts as solved, but it isn't saved as a best time.
- Is Sudoku free?
- Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
