Frequently asked questions

Is the scenery real?
The terrain is real elevation data, the city's buildings, roads and rivers come from OpenStreetMap, and the airport follows its official charts. Many building heights are estimated.
Which aircraft can I fly?
A single-engine light trainer, a twin-jet airliner and a fast fighter with an afterburner, each with its own handling and instruments.
Does it work on a phone?
It's made for computers: you need a keyboard, a game controller or a joystick, and a browser with 3D graphics. Phones and tablets may struggle.
Why is the first load slow?
It downloads about 10 MB of terrain, city and aircraft the first time. After that your browser keeps a copy.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No. The simulator runs on your device; settings are kept in your browser. Air traffic control speaks with your device's own voices.
Is Ping Valley Flight free?
Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
