How to use Change Audio Volume
- Set the volume: above 100% is louder, below 100% is quieter. Turn on normalize to even out the loudness first.

Frequently asked questions
- How much louder is 200%?
- 200% doubles the level of the sound, about 6 dB, which most people hear as clearly louder but not twice as loud. 50% halves it.
- Will a big boost distort the sound?
- Loud peaks are held just below the maximum, so the file doesn't clip. A very large boost on music that is already loud can still sound squashed; try a smaller step first.
- What does normalize do?
- It measures how loud your whole file sounds and brings it to a standard level used for podcasts and streaming. Use it to make a set of recordings match. Set the volume to 100% to normalize only.
- What happens to my files?
- Your file is deleted as soon as it's processed. Your new file is available to download for 1 hour, then it's deleted too. On a paid plan, your files and results are kept in My files until you delete them.
