Free Tower Control: Play an Air Traffic Control Game Online
Free, no sign-up, works in your browser. Work the tower at a two-runway airport on a radar screen. Turn, climb, descend and slow aircraft, line arrivals up and clear them to land, send departures off and hand them on at their exit point, all while keeping planes at the same height apart.
Level 1
Arrivals only, one runway. Turn each one onto the yellow arrows of runway 1, bring it down to 4 or lower and slow it to 220, then clear it to land.
No traffic right now.
Select an aircraft, then steer it. Line arrivals up with a runway's yellow arrows, at 4 thousand feet or lower and 220 knots or slower, then clear them to land. Climb departures to 5 and hand them off at their exit point. Keep aircraft at the same height apart.

How to play Tower Control
- Pick a level and press Start. Arrivals fly in from the edges with a call sign, height and speed.
- Tap an aircraft to select it. Drag a line from it (or tap where it should go) to give a heading, or use the turn buttons and arrow keys; climb, descend and change speed with the buttons.
- To land, bring it onto the yellow arrows of a runway, at 4 thousand feet or lower and 220 knots or slower, and clear it to land on that runway. Otherwise it goes around.
- From level 3, departures wait at the runways. Clear them for take-off when the runway is free, climb them to 5 and hand them off at their exit point.
- Two aircraft at about the same height must not get too close: a pink ring warns you, and touching ends the game.
Frequently asked questions
- Why did my aircraft go around?
- It reached the runway without being lined up, low enough or slow enough. Turn it back, bring it onto the approach arrows below 4 thousand feet and under 220 knots, and clear it again.
- What do the colours on the radar mean?
- Green aircraft are arrivals, yellow ones departures. Orange means two aircraft will come too close if nothing changes; pink means they already are.
- Does the wind matter?
- Aircraft land and take off into the wind. When it changes, the yellow arrows move to the other end of the runways.
- Can I play on a phone?
- Yes. Tap an aircraft, then use the buttons under the radar or drag out a heading.
- Is my score saved?
- Your best score for each level is kept in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Is Tower Control free?
- Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
