Free Moon Landing: Land a Spacecraft on the Moon
Free, no sign-up, works in your browser. Fly a lander down to a flat pad on rugged ground with limited fuel. Fire the engine to slow your fall, turn to drift sideways and touch down gently and upright. Later levels bring gusts of wind, less fuel and a mother ship to dock with.
Level 1: land on a pad. Narrow pads are worth more.
Moon Landing
Bring the lander down gently on a flat pad. Narrow pads score more. Watch the gauges: slow, level and upright, or it's a crash.
Hold the engine to slow your fall, turn to drift sideways. Mint pads are wide and easy, lemon ones trickier, pink ones narrow and worth the most. Gauges turn pink outside the safe limits.

How to play Moon Landing
- Press Start. The lander begins high up and falling.
- Hold the up arrow (or the Engine button) to fire the engine; left and right turn the lander so the engine pushes it sideways.
- Watch the gauges: down speed, side speed and tilt must all be in the green when you touch down.
- Land with both feet on a pad. Narrow pads (pink) score more than wide ones (mint), and leftover fuel adds to your score.
- You have three landers. Each level is harder; on docking levels, lift off and meet the mother ship's port gently from below.
Frequently asked questions
- Why did I crash on a flat-looking spot?
- Only the marked pads are flat enough. Anywhere else, or with a foot over the edge of a pad, counts as rough ground.
- What are the safe limits?
- Coming down slower than 2.2 m/s, drifting less than 1.2 m/s sideways and leaning less than 10 degrees. The gauges show each one against its limit.
- How does the wind work?
- On windy levels gusts push the lander sideways, changing every few seconds. They fade out just above the ground.
- Can I play on a phone?
- Yes. Buttons under the screen turn the lander and fire the engine.
- Is my best score saved?
- Yes, in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Is Moon Landing free?
- Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
