How to play Billiards

  1. Choose the computer (easy, medium or hard) or two players, then press Start.
  2. Break: move the cue ball anywhere behind the line, then drag back and let go to shoot. The further you pull, the harder the shot.
  3. Your first pot after the break decides your group: solids (1 to 7) or stripes (9 to 15).
  4. Pot all of your group, then the 8. Keep shooting while you pot your own balls.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a foul?
Missing every ball, hitting the other group (or the 8 too early) first, and potting the cue ball. After a foul the other player gets the cue ball in hand and can place it anywhere.
When do I lose?
If the 8 goes in before you have cleared your group, or on the same shot as a foul. If it drops on the break, it is put back on its spot and play goes on.
How do I aim precisely?
Follow the guide line to the ball it will hit; on easy and medium (and with two players) a ghost ball shows where the cue ball will touch it. With a keyboard, the left and right arrows turn the cue; hold Shift for fine turns, and set the power with up and down.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. On a narrow screen the table stands upright, and you drag back with a finger to shoot.
Is my record saved?
Your wins and losses against the computer are kept in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Is Billiards free?
Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
