Frequently asked questions
- Is this real money or real stocks?
- No. The money is play money with no value: it can't be bought, cashed out or won. The companies are made up, and the prices come from the game, not from any real market.
- How do prices move?
- Every day each price takes a random step, bigger for jumpy companies, nudged by the market's mood and by the news. Rumours are right most of the time, not always, and prices drift back towards what each company is worth over time.
- Can I continue a game later?
- Yes. Your game is saved in this browser after every move. "New game" starts again from $10,000.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes. Tap a company or its tower, choose how many shares and press Buy or Sell. On a keyboard: N for the next day, P to play or pause, B to buy and S to sell.
- Where is my best score saved?
- In this browser on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere and there's no account to make.
- Is Market Day free?
- Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
