Frequently asked questions
- What is spaced repetition?
- It's a way of reviewing that shows you a card just as you're about to forget it. Cards you know come back after longer and longer gaps; ones you miss come back soon. You remember more while studying less each day.
- Can I import my cards from a list or spreadsheet?
- Yes. Paste two columns copied from a spreadsheet, or lines like “word - meaning”, or open a CSV file. Each line becomes a card, front and back.
- What are cloze cards?
- Cards with a gap to fill in, such as “The capital of France is […]”. Select a word in your sentence, tap Make a gap, and each gap becomes its own card. They're part of Pro.
- Can I cram for an exam?
- Yes. Learn and Test modes go through a whole deck whenever you like. With Pro, set an exam date on a deck and cards are spaced so you see each one again before the day.
- Who can see my cards?
- Only you. They stay on your device, and in your EveryApp account once you sign in. They're never sold or used for ads, and you can download or delete them any time.
- Is Flashcards free?
- Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
