Frequently asked questions

Can I save a recipe from a website?
Yes. Copy the recipe's text on the website, then paste it into Recipe Keeper. It finds the title, servings, times, ingredients and steps, and you can fix anything before saving. The link is kept so you can go back to the original.
How does scaling work?
Each ingredient's amount is read from the line, multiplied for the servings you choose and shown in friendly fractions like 1½ cups. Lines without an amount, like “salt to taste”, stay as they are.
Can it convert cups to grams?
It converts volumes to volumes (cups to millilitres) and weights to weights (ounces to grams), and oven temperatures between °F and °C. It doesn't turn cups into grams, because that depends on the ingredient.
Will my screen stay on while I cook?
In cook mode, yes, on browsers that support it, which includes most up-to-date phones. Timers chime when they're done and show a notification if you've switched apps.
Who can see my recipes?
Only you. They stay on your device, or in your EveryApp account once you sign in, never sold or used for ads, and you can download or delete them any time.
Is Recipe Keeper free?
Yes. It's free to use, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
